Leopard launches brutal attack on locals after straying into village in northern India

A leopard launched a brutal attack on locals after it strayed into a village in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

This incident happened in Hatwa village of Siddharthnagar district on April 29.

Visuals showed the leopard coming out of a building and pouncing on a group of men who were outside in that area. The people were anticipating the leopard and had prepared themselves with sticks and rods. The wild animal jumped on one of these men and all of the others subsequently attacked the big cat. The leopard continued attacking the man as it was being beaten up with the rods and sticks. A situation of chaos followed in the area. The leopard subsequently ran away from the area and headed back in the direction from where it had come.

According to a report, the leopard had attacked an old man who was seated outside his house and the news of his spread like wildfire across the village and the youngsters got together and prepared to take on the animal. The report states that five people were injured in this attack and were taken to a hospital for treatment. The information of this was sent to the forest department and forest officer Mohammad Ilyas Khan and his colleagues rushed to the spot.
