Leopard attacks residents after straying into village in northern India

A leopard strayed into a village and attacked a couple of its residents in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
This happened in Santoshpura village, Pilibhit district on May 15.
Visuals showed the leopard running through a field as villagers gathered at the area and watched the animal. They were also seen running after it following a while. According to a report, leopard and tiger activity have been increasing for a number of days and now, this big cat has come to the fore. It reportedly attacked a man named Harishankar and then Dorilal. Both were admitted to the district hospital. Also, this attack by the wild animal spread panic in the area.
After receiving information, the police and regional Social Forestry team reached the spot. Three teams were put on surveillance and the leopard would be caught and released into the wild.
